UK flagship programme ‘It’s Our World’
was officially launched on 15th June 2007 by the Right Hon David Wright
MP. This entails us mentoring young adults in the 12 - 18 age group as
they develop and deliver fund raising projects which they have
identified and designed themselves.

Our world is in a delicate state and many of its young need (and
desire) the opportunities that our young take for granted as both
grow to maturity taking their place in the adult community. To help
maintain its balance, the way that we see we can help is to provide
opportunity through education and employment to those less fortunate
than ourselves – to equip them better so that they can more fully
contribute to their role as the ‘caretakers of
tomorrow’ of our world! |
|
Therefore, the funds raised will be for the benefit of poorer
communities, initially in Ecuador, resulting in
the UK
youngsters involved developing a wider awareness of the world and
gaining a direct understanding how life elsewhere differs from
theirs. It will also
provide them with 'real world' skills as
we will
provide training on many skills that are necessary to manage a
project, skills that can be used in many aspects of life, e.g.
financial awareness, risk management, organizational and planning,
team working and communications, to name but a few! |
 |
 |
It will
require them to work as a team over a significant period of time
developing communication and social skills, and will give them a
sense of achievement that will provide confidence and self belief.
It will be fun and a reason to become more involved in the wider
world and may provide them with enjoyment of a dimension to life
that they may not already have experienced, and in some instances
provide a better and more socially aware outlet for their energies!
